Where in the Bible is the rapture taught?
Scripture teaches the rapture in 1 Corinthians 15:51, where Paul reveals the mystery that believers alive at the end of the church age will not die physically but will be suddenly transported from here to there in a split second. This Pauline doctrine is not found elsewhere in the Bible.
Les explains that the rapture is a revelation totally different, yet part of the same complex revelation, something never referred to anywhere else in Scripture, which is why people have a hard time contemplating it. He identifies it as a Pauline doctrine not found anywhere else in the Bible. In 1 Corinthians 15:51, Paul says, 'Behold, I show you a mystery,' a secret never before revealed. This mystery is that one group of believers will not die physically but will be alive when everything comes to a culmination. Nowhere else is that hinted at in Scripture. At the end of the church age, a group of believers will be suddenly transported from here to there in a split second. Les acknowledges it is hard to comprehend and that the unbeliever scoffs, but it takes faith to believe that Christ will leave glory, come to the atmosphere, the trumpet will sound, the archangel will shout, and all the dead believers of the church age will be raised and resurrected to meet the Lord in the air, and then those still alive and remaining will follow in a split second.
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
