During the 2,000 years before the church age, who was God dealing with?

God was dealing predominantly with the Jew only—the nation of Israel—throughout the 2,000 years before the Church Age. There were exceptions, including Nineveh, Rahab, Ruth, Naaman, the Canaanite woman, and the Roman Centurion, but otherwise His dealings were with Israel.

Les explains that all during this 2,000 years, God was dealing predominantly “Jew only,” with a few exceptions. He points to Nineveh, Rahab, Ruth, and the Syrian General Naaman. When you come into Christ’s earthly ministry, the exceptions were the Canaanite woman and the Roman Centurion—the only two He dealt with in His earthly ministry. Otherwise, it was all God dealing with the nation of Israel. After Israel’s rejection and the crucifixion, an undetermined period follows, then the seven years of tribulation, and then the King returns so Israel could have the Kingdom. The Church, the Age of Grace, is missing from that Old Testament outline because it was a secret held in the mind of God until He revealed it.
