According to Zechariah 14:9, who will be king over all the earth and not over heaven?

Zechariah 14:9 identifies the Lord Jehovah—the Christ, the Messiah—as the One who will be King over all the earth, rather than over heaven. His reign is earthly, and a king naturally implies a kingdom. This corrects the idea of a heavenly kingship and points to His coming earthly rule.

Les teaches from Zechariah 14, noting that the chapter begins with a graphic description of the tribulation and then the battle of Armageddon. Skipping down to verse 9, he stresses that the Lord Jehovah—the Christ, the Messiah—will be King over all the earth, not over heaven. The text corrects the idea of heaven and emphasizes the earth. Les adds that if you have a king, a kingdom naturally follows, which connects with the earlier statement that after two days He will revive us and in the third day—the Kingdom—we shall live in His sight.

Zechariah 14:9

And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
