Has Ezekiel 37 been fulfilled in modern Israel's return to the land?

Ezekiel 37's dry bones prophecy depicts dispersed Israel brought back to the land in our own time, as seen in modern Israel's return. However, this return is only precursory—a preliminary stage—not the complete fulfillment; it precedes the greater restoration that follows.

Les explains that Ezekiel 37's dry bones vision is a familiar passage about the nation of Israel scattered among the Gentile nations with no hope, only able to dream of returning to Jerusalem and their homeland. He notes that this was the condition up until our present day. The prophecy promised that these dry bones—the dispersed of Israel—would one day be brought back to life, and Les says we have seen this in our own time as Israel returned to the land. However, Les stresses that this modern return is only precursory to what follows. The greater fulfillment involves the Messiah assuming David's throne on earth in Jerusalem, establishing it with judgment and justice forever. Les also points out that while the Old Testament language speaks of forever and ever, Revelation restricts this to a thousand years, indicating a millennial reign that follows the preliminary return.
