What did John say about all the other things Jesus did that were not recorded?
John said there were also many other things Jesus did; if every one were written, he supposed even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. He therefore testified that his account did not record everything Jesus did.
Les explains that John is closing his Gospel account. In verse 24 John identifies himself as the disciple who testified of these things and wrote them, and adds that we know his testimony is true. Then in verse 25 John says there were also many other things Jesus did, and that if every one were written, he supposes even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Les presents this as John’s acknowledgment that the Gospel record is not exhaustive of all Jesus did.
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
