What did Isaiah say about the coming King's rule over the world?

Isaiah said the government would rest on the coming King’s shoulder. His rule would extend from Israel to the whole world as King of kings and Lord of lords. Of His government and peace there would be no end, upon the throne of David. It will be perfect, with no sin, corruption, or rotten politics.

Les teaches that Isaiah’s prophecy centers on the Kingdom on earth that Christ spoke of in His earthly ministry and that all Old Testament prophecy anticipates. The government shall be upon His shoulder, meaning this coming King of kings and Lord of lords will rule not only Israel but the whole world. Les explains that this Kingdom will be perfect—no sin, no corruption, no rotten politics—and His government rests on the shoulder of the person Isaiah describes. He identifies the Prince of Peace as Christ, while noting that He is also God the Father. Les also points out the increase of His government and peace shall have no end, upon the throne of David. The coming King concept comes from the Abrahamic Covenant, not from something promised to Adam, and Matthew’s genealogy goes back only to Abraham because Matthew presents Christ as the King who will rule and reign over Israel and the whole world.
