What does the dry-bones vision in Ezekiel 37 picture?

Ezekiel 37’s dry-bones vision pictures the whole house of Israel regathered from dispersion. The bones shake, come together, and receive skin, yet have no breath. This depicts Israel physically restored from dispersion but still spiritually dead, awaiting the breath to be breathed into them.

Les teaches that Ezekiel 37’s opening verses describe the dry bones shaking, coming together, forming, and then receiving skin, but still having no breath. He explains this is a picture of the nation of Israel coming back out of its dispersion, as has been seen over the last 30, 40, or 50 years, yet the breath has not yet been breathed into them, so they remain spiritually dead. In verse 11, the bones are identified as the whole house of Israel—all of them. Les also notes that though many are gathered, the net is not broken, and not a single Jew intended for the Kingdom will be lost.
