How long did Israel have the opportunity to repent and receive the promises during Jesus' signs?
Through the first three or four signs, Israel remained in a position to repent, recognize who He was, and experience the fruition of all the promises. By the time of the Lazarus account, it was evident they would not accept Him, so that opportunity covered those early signs.
Les teaches that the first seven signs were directed at the nation of Israel before His crucifixion. In the early signs, Israel is without joy, sick, and impotent, yet the nation still had a flicker of hope to recognize the Messiah. As Christ made His appearance to Israel, at least based on the Old Testament promises, they could have had the King and the Kingdom had they believed Him. He made a valid offer; they could have had the King, but they refused to see Him. So all through the first three or four signs, the nation was still in a position where they could have repented, recognized who He was, and experienced the fruition of all the promises. By the time of the Lazarus account, it was evident they were not going to accept Him.
