What do the signs in John's Gospel mean for Israel's near-term rejection and long-term fulfillment?

The signs in John were directed to Israel, indicating her near-term rejection and falling away from those prospects. Yet in the long term, God will still fulfill every sign aspect of His dealings with Israel, including the promised fountain opened to David's house and Jerusalem for sin and uncleanness.

Les teaches that the sign in John 9—the blind man washing in Siloam and coming seeing—is not isolated. It is directed to the nation of Israel, showing her near-term rejection and falling away from all her prospects. But long term, God will fulfill all these sign aspects of His dealing with Israel. He connects it to Zechariah 13:1, where in the day the Lord sets up His kingdom and Israel has all the promises fulfilled, a fountain is opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and uncleanness. God will cleanse and forgive them, and they will come into all the glory of the kingdom. As yet, Israel remains in spiritual blindness.
