What does Les say is the true mark of a good teacher?
A good teacher is marked by the ability to motivate students to study. When learners are moved to search the Word for themselves rather than merely repeat what the teacher said, that teacher's purpose is accomplished. This motivation, not personal acclaim, is the true measure of successful teaching.
Les teaches that he has always maintained the true mark of a good teacher is if he can motivate his students to study. He says that if he can do that, then he has accomplished his purpose. He explains that he does not want his listeners just to leave saying, "Well, that's what Les said." Instead, he wants them to be able to study the Word themselves. He calls that thrilling, and he says it has television beat hollow, except for the 30 minutes.
