What did Les Feldick say is the thing that really counts in teaching the Bible?
The thing that really counts is what the Book says. In teaching the Bible, the standard is not what a denomination, another group, or even the teacher says, but what the Book itself says. That question—what does the Book say?—is the constant reference and the measure that matters.
Les explains that the class is just an informal Bible study with various denominations represented, and they do not try to temper or trumpet any particular organization. They are totally independent, and he likes it that way because then he is free to teach as he feels the Holy Spirit has instructed him. He stresses that he is not there to run anybody else down or to disagree with them, but simply to open the book. His constant reference is “what does the book say?” It does not matter what a denomination says, what any other group may say, or what he himself says; what counts is what the book says. That is all they attempt to do.
