What does Paul teach about the Holy Spirit that is not found in the Gospels?

Paul reveals that in this age, when a person becomes a child of God, the Holy Spirit, the very presence of the Godhead, not only raises believers out of their deadness in sin but also indwells them, providing power to obey what the Law could not accomplish.

Les explains from Romans 8:11 that this is language you will not see in the Gospels, not even in John. Paul reveals that now, in this age, when a person becomes a child of God, the very presence of the Godhead in the person of the Holy Spirit not only raises them up out of their deadness in sin but also indwells them. That is why believers no longer need the Law. Les stresses this does not mean license to steal or sin; it is quite the opposite. Believers are now under the power of a person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, who keeps them from the things the Law demanded they not do but could not produce, keeping them from wanting to steal, speak falsely, covet, engage in immoral doings, and all these things.

Romans 8:11

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
