Les Feldick Bible Study

What did Jesus do during the three hours on the cross?

During those three hours Jesus stepped into eternity and suffered the punishment for every human being's sin as the scapegoat, carrying sins far away, never to be remembered against us. Then at 3 PM He returned, finished His statements, and said, "It is finished."

Les explains that eternity can cover a million years in 30 seconds, and so during that three-hour period Jesus stepped into the eternal. There He suffered the punishment for every human being's sin as the scapegoat, taking our sins far, far away, never to be remembered against us anymore. Then at 3 o'clock in the afternoon He comes back, finishes His statements from the cross, and can say, "It is finished."
