When did God take paradise up into heaven?
After the cross, after the supreme sacrifice, and after divine blood was shed, when sins were atoned for rather than merely covered, God took paradise up into heaven. This timing followed the completion of the true atoning work of the cross. So paradise was taken up at that time.
Les explains that the Day of Atonement was not a day of removing sin, but a covering. The Hebrew word Kephar meant to cover, and animal blood could not take away sin, only cover it. David said, "Blessed is the man whose sins are covered." Old Testament believers could not go into glory when they died because their sins were not atoned for, only covered. They waited for the true atoning work of the cross. After the cross, after the supreme sacrifice, the divine blood had been shed, their sins were atoned for, and then God took paradise up into heaven.
