Why did God start the redemption process?

God initiated the redemption process because when Adam fell, God lost the human race. According to Romans 3:23, all have sinned and come short of God's glory. Redemption means buying back what was lost, so God moved immediately to purchase humanity back with a price—His own blood.

Les explains that redemption involves losing control of a piece of property and then buying it back. When Adam fell, God lost the human race, so He immediately put in motion the whole process of redemption, buying us back with a price—His own blood. This is grounded in Romans 3:23, where all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Les also points to Romans 3:25, which says God set forth a propitiation through faith in His blood, and he emphasizes that there was power in that divine blood. He further notes that salvation begins with recognizing our need and seeing ourselves as God sees us.
