Who inspired the biblical writers?
The biblical writers were inspired by the Holy Spirit and moved of God to write what they wrote. Scripture attributes their writings to divine inspiration, not human origin. The Holy Spirit directed them, ensuring their message came from God. Thus, the ultimate source of their words is God Himself.
Les explains that all these writers are inspired of the Holy Spirit and moved of God to write what they write. This applies to Moses and John, for example, so when John in his Gospel speaks of the beginning, he uses the same language Moses used in Genesis. John writes that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and was God, affirming the deity of Christ. The Holy Spirit superintended their words, so their writings carry God's authority.
