How can God prepare the earth for the Millennium after the Tribulation?
God can rapidly restore the planet by His own power, just as the ecology around Mount St. Helens recovered within a year or two after its eruption. The Tribulation's wrath ultimately pays off the curse, allowing the earth to be delivered and enter Christ's Millennial reign.
Les teaches that Mount St. Helens is a good example of how quickly God can prepare the planet for the Millennium, even after the ravages of the Tribulation. He notes that it was only a year or two after that tremendous volcano that scientists were amazed at how fast the fauna, herbs, and life came back, and now it is almost more beautiful than before. The context explains that during the Tribulation there is a double-barreled attack on mankind—the wrath of God and the wrath of Satan—and all of nature feels it. But the end result is to pay off the curse so that the earth can come out from under it, be delivered from it, and go into the Millennial reign of Christ.
