Les Feldick Bible Study

Who is the person in the field told not to go back and get his clothes?

The person in the field is an agricultural worker, representing the working class. During the flight from Judea at the midpoint of the Tribulation, he is told not to return to retrieve his clothes because time is of the essence; he should flee with only the clothes on his back.

Les teaches that this person is not the 144,000 but part of a cross section of society fleeing Jerusalem. He identifies this figure as the worker, specifically an agricultural worker, the working class. Unlike the retired, well-to-do individual on the housetop who might want to take antiques or furniture, the field worker must not go back for his clothes. Les emphasizes that time is of the essence, so he should take only the clothes on his back and get out of Jerusalem. This parallels Israel's escape from Egypt, with God protecting and providing for escaping Jews at the midpoint of the Tribulation.

Matthew 24:18

Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
