What has happened to the number of earthquakes since 1970?

The number of earthquakes has increased tremendously since about 1970, multiplying and mushrooming year by year. The increase over the 1960s and 1970s average is a tremendous amount. Earthquakes now occur somewhere on earth almost every day, though most go unrecorded because they are considered mundane.

Les teaches that there has been a tremendous increase in the number of earthquakes ever since about 1970. Beginning around that period, they have been mushrooming and multiplying year by year, so that by now the percentage increase over the average in the 60s and 70s is a tremendous amount. He notes that modern news no longer records most of these events because they have become so mundane, yet earthquakes are happening somewhere on the earth almost every day. This fits what Jesus was talking about when He spoke of wars, famines, and earthquakes in diverse places.
