What sign did the disciples ask Jesus about on the Mount of Olives?

On the Mount of Olives, the disciples privately asked Jesus what would be the sign of His coming and of the end of the age. They sought the sign identifying His coming and the end of the age.

Les explains that the disciples came to Jesus privately on the Mount of Olives, away from the press of the crowd, essentially just Jesus and the twelve. Their question opens up prophecy, because prophecy looks at what is coming. The twelve ask what will be the sign of His coming and the end of the age. Les also notes that Old Testament rabbis and students of the prophets understood two aspects of a coming Messiah, and some even thought there would be two Messiahs—one to be King and set up the Kingdom, and another as a suffering Savior. He connects the name Jehoshua, from which Jesus comes, to saving the people from their sin.
