What did Jesus say about the temple buildings in Matthew 24?
Jesus told the twelve to look at the temple buildings and declared that all those things would be destroyed, taken down one stone after another. He said this after leaving the temple area, crossing the Kidron Valley, and going up to the Mount of Olives.
Les explains that Jesus had left the temple area, probably went across the Kidron Valley, and as they got up to the Mount of Olives, they looked back. Jesus then says to the twelve, “You see all these things? They’re all going to be destroyed. It’s all going to be taken down, one stone after another.” Verse 3 then shows they are definitely on the Mount of Olives.
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
