Les Feldick Bible Study

From where did the disciples show Jesus the temple buildings?

After departing the temple, the disciples showed Him the temple buildings from a distance, likely from the Mount of Olives. From there, across the Little Kidron Valley, they could look back at the eastern wall and the entire temple complex.

Les explains that Jesus had been speaking in the temple complex, then went out and departed from the temple. The disciples came to Him to show Him the buildings of the temple. Les suggests this was from a distance, probably across from the Mount of Olives. From the Mount of Olives, one looks across the Little Kidron Valley and sees the eastern wall and temple complex. So as He left the temple, crossed the Little Kidron Valley, and went up on the Mount of Olives, the disciples likely looked back and asked, “What about all this?” Then Jesus said, “See ye not all these things?” and declared that not one stone would be left upon another.

Matthew 24:1

And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
