Les Feldick Bible Study

Why is the prophecy about Jerusalem being under Gentile power still valid today?

The prophecy remains valid because, while Gentile powers are not directly controlling Jerusalem today, they still call the shots and keep the little nation of Israel under their thumb. Jerusalem and Israel remain under the basic influence of Gentile powers, and this will end when Christ returns.

Les teaches that the Luke 21 prophecy covers a period that is now past and coming to its end. The Gentiles have been overlording Jerusalem all these centuries. Though they are not per se controlling Jerusalem today, it is the next thing to it, and they still pretty much call the shots. The Gentile powers still have the little nation of Israel under their thumb, so for all practical purposes the prophecy is still very valid. Jerusalem and the nation of Israel remain under the basic influence of the Gentile powers, but that will end when Christ returns.
