What will happen to Jerusalem until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled?

Jesus foretold that Jerusalem would be trodden down, held under the heavy boot of Gentile armies, and remain under Gentile dominion until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. This began with Gentile empires taking Jerusalem and continues until Christ returns.

Les explains that this statement is not about Armageddon or the return. Jesus was referring to the besieging of Jerusalem by Titus, the Roman general, in 70 A.D. In the same prophetic statement, Jesus says Jerusalem shall be trodden down, or under the heavy boot of Gentile armies, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Les adds that the times of the Gentiles began when a Gentile empire first took Jerusalem; Jerusalem has for the most part been under Gentile dominion ever since and will be until Christ returns.
