How did Jesus ride into Jerusalem?

Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey, the lowliest of animals, rather than on a big prancing white Arabian steed like the emperors of that day. This humble entry presented Him as King, offering the Kingdom if they would believe.

Les explains that instead of coming into Jerusalem on a big prancing white Arabian steed, which most emperors in that day did, He came on the colt of a donkey, the lowliest. This threw them a curve. Nevertheless, the offer went out that He was their King, and He was ready to give them the Kingdom if they would just believe. But they would not. Les also connects this to God's sovereignty and foreknowledge, noting that Israel had absolute freedom to accept Him and have the kingdom, but also the free will to reject it, and this does not throw God a curve because He knows what they will do.
