How did Jesus present Himself and come during His earthly ministry?

During His earthly ministry, Jesus presented Himself as the King, yet He came more as a servant. He entered lowly, riding on the foal of an ass, not as a royal king on a white steed. He epitomized this servant role by washing the disciples' feet, contrasting Adam's dominion.

Les explains that Christ's earthly ministry was a deliberate contrast to Adam. Adam, the federal head of the human race, had dominion over everything God created, yet fell through Satan's one temptation. Christ, by contrast, came not yet as the royal King. He presented Himself as King, but came more as a servant—lowly, riding the foal of an ass. This confused the Jews, who expected a conquering figure on a white steed like a Roman general or emperor. He epitomized servanthood by washing the disciples' feet, even though He was the Creator and the coming King of Israel and the whole planet. He came as the lowly servant, not as Adam with total dominion.
