What did the Lord answer Ananias in Acts 9:15?

The Lord answered Ananias, "Go thy way, for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles." Ananias was to stop fearing the man, because the Lord had chosen him to carry Christ's name to the Gentiles, a shocking mission to a Jew.

Les explains that Ananias was already picturing himself in some dungeon down under the streets of Jerusalem, fearing that this man had authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on the Lord's name, including himself. Then the Lord answers him in Acts 9:15, "Go thy way, for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles." Les points out how shocking this was, because the word Gentile was anathema to a Jew, and just to say the word would cause a riot. The Lord was telling Ananias that He was going to send this man to the Gentiles, something no one had heard of before.
