What did Nebuchadnezzar do to Jerusalem around 606 B.C.?

Around 606 B.C., Nebuchadnezzar came in, overran the city of Jerusalem, destroyed the temple, and got everything ready so that the nation of Israel was taken out. This happened in the period of Daniel, before Israel's return under Ezra and Nehemiah.

Les explains that in the timeline from Genesis through the Old Testament, when the teaching reached Daniel and the time period of 606 B.C., Nebuchadnezzar came in, overran the city of Jerusalem, destroyed the temple, and prepared everything so the nation of Israel was taken out. Later, Israel came back under Ezra and Nehemiah. Les notes this was the point before moving on to Christ's first advent and earthly ministry.
