Les Feldick Bible Study

How did Les's Bible teaching ministry begin?

It began through local church involvement and teaching a high school Sunday school class. In 1970, missionary Dick Wyman, home on furlough, had started a home Bible study with two couples and asked the teacher to take it over weekly after he returned to the field.

Les explains that it all began, as with most people, through involvement in a local church, where he taught a class of high school kids. A missionary family from Bolivia would come home on furlough, and periodically he would have at least one of their children in his Sunday school class. In 1970, Dick Wyman, a missionary with New Tribes, was home on furlough and had begun a home Bible study with two couples. When Dick was ready to return to the field, he did not want to drop them, so he drove out to the farm and asked Les to go in once a week and teach those four people as he had been doing. Les says he had never done anything like that before; he had only taught Sunday school kids. He then went and asked his own pastor. One of the ladies from those original couples had just called the day before, and those classes were still continuing with the tapes.
