What was Jesus trying to convince the Jews of during His three years of earthly ministry?

During His three years of earthly ministry, Jesus was trying to convince the Jews that He was the Christ. He knew full well what Israel was going to do, that He would go to the Roman cross and suffer for the sins of the world, yet He still presented Himself to them as the Christ.

Les explains that Jesus came through His whole three years of earthly ministry trying to convince the Jew that He was the Christ, knowing full well what Israel was going to do and that He would go to the Roman cross and suffer for the sins of the world. Les also notes that the Jews could not condescend to acknowledge that this Nazarene was the son of David, while the Canaanite woman did. Les points out that this Canaanite woman and a Roman centurion are the only two Gentiles Jesus ministers to in His whole earthly ministry; other than that, there is no account that He had anything to do with Gentiles. The context then moves to John 12, just before His crucifixion, when crowds gathered for Passover and certain Greeks/Gentiles came to worship at the feast.
