Why doesn't Christ judge by what He sees or rely on reports when He rules?
Christ will not judge by sight or reports because He will rule in absolute power and authority, needing no advisors, cabinet, or people to give Him advice. The Spirit of the Lord rests upon Him with wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and fear of the Lord, giving Him quick understanding to rule with righteousness and absolute fairness.
Les explains that verse 2 describes the Spirit of the Lord resting upon the King with wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord, making Him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord. Then the text says He shall not judge or rule after the sight of His eyes, nor reprove after the hearing of His ears. Les contrasts this with a U.S. President, who cannot keep his finger on every aspect of national life and must pick good men to cover various areas and report intelligently to him. But when Christ comes to rule, He won't need advisors, a cabinet, or people to give Him advice. He won't have to judge by what He sees, whether reports or whatever, and won't react to what someone has told or reported to Him. He will be so absolute in power and authority that such things won't be necessary. Verse 4 then asks how He will rule: with righteousness, absolute fairness, and no corruption.
