Why do Jesus' three temptations cover every temptation we face today?

Christ, as the second Adam, did not succumb to Satan's testing. In His three temptations He withstood all the attacks of Satan, and thereby covered every area of temptation that people face, even today. Those three temptations encompass everything Satan can throw at us now.

Les teaches that Christ came in a wilderness setting with nothing to enhance the circumstances, unlike Adam, who had it all. Under those adverse conditions, Christ did not succumb as Adam did. As the second Adam, He withstood all of Satan's attacks, and by doing so He covered every area of temptation that we face. Les says that in those three temptations, Christ suffered the attacks of Satan that cover everything Satan can throw at us today. He connects this to 1 John 2:15, where John writes, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world," noting that the Greek word for world is kosmos.
