What did God give Israel as part of their preparation besides the law?

Besides the law, as part of Israel's preparation, God gave them the temple worship, the priesthood, and the Old Testament, the Word of God. These were given in the whole preparation process to equip Israel to become a kingdom of priests.

Les explains that out of the mainstream of humanity God called the one little nation of Israel and made promises that they would become a kingdom of priests. To prepare them, He placed them under the law, but that was not all: He also gave them the temple worship, the priesthood, and the Old Testament, the Word of God. Les calls this a whole preparation process. Meanwhile, Gentiles remained outside the covenant promises, not citizens of Israel, without hope and without God. They continue until Israel can be funneled back into the Gentile nations to bring them to a knowledge of their God. The Old Testament is prophecy, telling future events—the coming crucifixion, and the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ—though in subdued, latent terms that people did not comprehend, even when Jesus told them in Luke 18.
