What does God do with the earth after Satan is defeated and the curse is lifted?
After Satan is defeated and the curse is lifted, God renovates the earth in short order, restoring the whole planet to Garden of Eden conditions. Christ then returns, destroys remaining rebels, sets up His Kingdom on earth, and the thousand-year reign begins in glory.
Les explains that the tribulation judgments pay off Satan’s mortgage, pictured in Revelation chapter 5 when the scroll—really a mortgage—has its seals peeled off. Once Satan is defeated and the curse is lifted from the planet, God undertakes a renovation project in short order, making the earth ready for the Kingdom. When Christ returns after the seven years, He destroys the remaining armies and all those still in rebellion, and the earth is brought back to an Eden-like condition. Then the thousand years begin. Les reminds his classes that the Kingdom was prophesied throughout the Old Testament, but only Revelation attaches the time frame of a thousand years; the Old Testament speaks of forever, and the Kingdom is eternal.
