What is the subject matter of the book of Revelation?

The book of Revelation concerns the unfolding of the final seven years of God's dealing with the human race, particularly with the nation of Israel. This period is Daniel's seventieth week, the unfulfilled remainder of Israel's 490-year prophecy, beginning with the Antichrist's seven-year treaty with Israel.

Les explains that the whole book of Revelation is about the unfolding of the final seven years of God's dealing with the human race in general, but in particular with the nation of Israel. This final seven-year period is Daniel's 70th week, the last seven years of Israel's original 490-year prophecy from Daniel chapter 9. Only 483 years were fulfilled by the time Christ was crucified, leaving seven years unfulfilled. Since the church age has been sandwiched in between the 483 years and the final seven, once the Body of Christ is completed and caught up, God will pick up where He left off with Israel and bring about that final seven-year period. As Revelation ties in with Daniel, the opening event of this final seven years will be the appearance of the Antichrist, who will sign a seven-year treaty with Israel.
