Les Feldick Bible Study

Why is God just and fair in judging people to hell?

God is just and fair because He provided escape through the finished work of the cross, and no one is without opportunity. Scripture says the lost are without excuse. The door of salvation is at ground level before every person, so those judged realize they chose their own eternal doom.

Les teaches that this eternal place is bodily torment forever, with all senses and feelings, and it is horrendous. But God, through the finished work of the cross, made it possible for every human being to escape. Those who go there will realize they made their choice for it. Even when people seem never to have heard, they must have had some kind of chance, otherwise God would not say they are without excuse. Les illustrates from John 10 that the door into the sheepfold is not on a high cliff, across a raging river, or across the ocean; it is ground level, right in front of every person. Therefore God is absolutely just and fair, and part of the torment is the constant regret that they did not have to be there.
