Why can no believer claim to be at the top of the heap in the body of Christ?
No believer can claim the top position because God Himself places each member in the body as it pleases Him, and every role is equally important. Whether visible or hidden, every believer functions as part of one body, so no member ranks above another.
Les teaches that Paul uses the physical body’s members—foot, hand, ear, and eye—to show that no member is excluded simply because it is not another member. No one in the body of Christ can say, “I’m at the top of the heap,” because God has set every member in the body as it pleased Him. Believers are equally important in their role and function, whether visible or seemingly hidden, and should respond, “Here I am, Lord, use me.”
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
