Les Feldick Bible Study

How do you become part of the Body of Christ?

A person becomes part of the Body of Christ by believing and trusting the finished work of the cross—the gospel. This Body is unique to the age of grace, composed of church-age believers, primarily Gentiles though including some Jewish believers, and is not the same as Old Testament believers.

Les teaches that the Body of Christ is that composite of church age believers, with Christ as the Head. He explains it is unique to this age of grace: a person becomes a member by believing and trusting the finished work of the cross, or the gospel. He contrasts this with Old Testament believers, who he does not believe will be members of the Body, since that relationship is strictly part and parcel of Israel's relationship to her Jehovah God. The Body is especially the unique relationship of the Gentile, though it includes some Jewish people, but not many. In Ephesians 5, Les sees the husband and wife analogy correlating with Christ as the Head and the Body of Christ.
