What is faith in the plan of salvation?

Faith in the plan of salvation is believing. Scripture declares that without faith it is impossible, so salvation must believe. Faith is believing and diligently seeking Him, grounded in the work of the cross: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and arose again from the dead.

Les explains that Hebrews 9:22 and Hebrews 11:6 are unalterable attributes we must face head-on; we either accept them or reject them, because they cannot be compromised. The context shows that without the shedding of blood there is no remission, and Christ's death fulfilled God's demand that blood be shed for the soul that sins. Likewise, without faith it is impossible, so salvation must believe; faith is believing, and God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Paul constantly reminds us of the work of the cross: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and arose again from the dead.

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

More Questions

Is faith necessary for salvation?

Salvation requires faith: without faith it is impossible, and a person's salvation must believe.

Why do we need faith to receive what God did in salvation?

Faith is necessary because without faith it is impossible to please God, so the works of salvation must be reckoned by faith.
