What condition is the whole creation currently under?
The whole creation is currently under the bondage of corruption, groaning and travailing in pain as a result of the curse. Sin and death rule, and everything—from animals and plants to rocks—suffers under this bondage, waiting for deliverance into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Les explains that the creation shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption, which is what we are living under today. Everything is under this bondage of corruption, sin and death; everything dies, whether in the animal kingdom or wherever, and death rules supreme. The whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain, under the results of the curse, together until now. Les stretches thinking about the term whole creation: it is not just man, but everything—the flowers, the birds, the trees, the animal kingdom, and the rocks. He points to Jesus' triumphal entry, saying if the people were shut up, the rocks would take their place in crying out, showing creation is aware of the Creator. All creation is waiting for the great day of deliverance from the curse into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Not only they, but believers also long for that day.
