Will God force believers to do His bidding?

No. God has paid the purchase price of redemption, so believers are His, and He wishes they would do His bidding. Yet He will not force it. Instead, He gives incentive through reward at the bema seat of Christ, which concerns reward, not salvation.

Les teaches that just as parents may have a child who becomes a renegade, belligerent, and antagonistic, leaving them heartache, God is the same way. God paid the purchase price of redemption, so believers are His, and He would wish that they would do His bidding, but He is not going to force it. The incentive for believers to be pleasing in His sight is reward. Les compares this to parents giving children incentives to do well at school or to be obedient, and then rewarding that response. He references Ephesians 4:10 and says believers must all appear before the bema seat of Christ, the seat of judges, so that everyone may receive the things done in his body, good or bad. That is not salvation; it is strictly for reward.
