Les Feldick Bible Study

Will a believer's sins be shown at the Bema judgment seat?

No. A believer’s sins will not be shown at the Bema judgment seat. That judgment is strictly a review of the believer’s works, with no dealing with sin, because all sin was judged on Christ at the cross and paid for there.

Les explains that the judgment seat, or Bema, is not the great white throne judgment. At the great white throne, every unbeliever of all the ages comes before Christ as Judge, not Savior; their names are not in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and the Books record their evil deeds. No believers are there. Instead, Paul lays out the future for church age believers in II Corinthians 5: believers will stand before Christ to give a record or account of their deeds and works. Les emphasizes that no believer’s sin will be presented at the Bema seat. It will be strictly a review of our works as believers, with no dealing with sin, because all our sin was judged on Christ at the cross and paid for. We will never have to stand before God and give an account for our sin, but we will give an account of what we have done as believers. The King James calls it the judgment seat, but the Greek word is Bema.
