For how long did the early church stand on premillennialism?

The early church stood solidly on premillennialism for approximately 250 years, from about 40 or 50 A.D. to the end of 299 or into the 300s. They called it Chiliasm, from the Greek Chileoi, meaning 1,000 again, just as milli means 1,000.

Les explains that for the first 250 years of church history—from roughly 40 or 50 A.D. until the end of 299 or going into the 300s—the Church stood solidly on what is now called pre-millennialism. They used a different term, Chileasm, derived from the Greek Chileoi, meaning 1,000 again, just as milli means 1,000. This stands in contrast to the claim that rapture and millennium teaching had no basis because it was absent at the Reformation.
