Les Feldick Bible Study

What qualities characterize Christ's rule in the millennial kingdom?

Christ's millennial rule is characterized by the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and fear of the Lord. He judges with righteousness and reproves with equity for the meek. Righteousness and faithfulness gird His rule, which is absolute and perfect, bringing peace where the wolf dwells with the lamb.

Les explains that the branch is Christ, upon whom the Spirit of the Lord rests with wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and fear of the Lord. He notes that with righteousness He shall judge the poor and reprove with equity for the meek, echoing the Beatitudes, which he calls the Constitution of the Kingdom that will come into full bloom when Christ sets up the Kingdom. Righteousness and faithfulness are the girdle of His loins and reins, qualities of Christ's absolute and perfect rule over the thousand-year Kingdom. He also points to the wolf dwelling with the lamb as part of this rule.

Isaiah 11:5

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
