What happened to the Jewish remnant at the midpoint of the Tribulation?

At the midpoint of the Tribulation, the Jewish remnant fled the area of Jerusalem and went down into the mountains to the southeast. This remnant is pictured as escaping Jerusalem at that midpoint and heading into those southeastern mountains, where they are separated from the scene in Jerusalem.

Les explains that the remnant of Jews fled the area of Jerusalem at the midpoint of the Tribulation and went down into the mountains to the southeast. This is the first group mentioned in the discussion of who will enter the Kingdom, where only believers will go. The context also notes that survivors of the Tribulation will include some who hear the Gospel from the 144,000 and become believers, ready for the Kingdom, while those who reject the Gospel will be removed.
