Why did Christians in Europe hide Jews during the Holocaust?
Christians in Europe hid Jewish people because it is a Christian’s nature to do such things. Those who experience salvation by faith become willing to help others, and their good works flow from that new nature rather than serving as the means of salvation.
Les explains this as an example of the righteous who help the least of His brethren. He stresses that good works never save anyone; these believers were saved by faith in the message. As soon as they experienced salvation, they were willing to help. During Hitler’s terror against the Jews, believers and Christians in Europe hid Jewish people and helped them escape, because it is a Christian’s nature to do such things.
