Les Feldick Bible Study

Does wealth protect haughty people during the judgment described in Isaiah 24?

No. The haughty people of the earth languish and fade away, and their wealth provides no protection during that coming judgment. The earth is defiled because its inhabitants transgress God’s laws, change the ordinance, and break the everlasting covenant, so the curse devours the earth and its inhabitants are burned.

Les teaches that the world languisheth and fadeth away, and the haughty people of the earth languish too, but even their wealth is not going to protect them. The reason given is that the earth is defiled under its inhabitants because they transgressed God's laws, changed the ordinance, and broke the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse that began with Adam devours the earth; its inhabitants are desolate and burned. Les notes there could be tremendous amounts of nuclear energy released, and the technology we see makes the Book of Revelation more believable. Yet in spite of these cataclysmic events, there will be a few men left.

Isaiah 24:4

The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
