What will the remnant of Israel in Zechariah 13:6 experience?
The remnant of Israel will experience the new birth—the spiritual regeneration Nicodemus was told he had to have in order to enter the kingdom. They will also have their spiritual eyes opened to recognize the pierced Messiah, the One crucified on the Roman cross, as the coming manifestation of Christ.
Les explains that Zechariah 12:10 speaks of the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, not Gentiles, and God will pour out the spirit of grace and supplications. They shall look upon the One they pierced, a reference to His crucifixion. Their physical and spiritual eyes will open so they recognize the coming manifestation of the Christ, the Messiah, as the One who died on the Roman cross. Then in Zechariah 13:6, the remnant asks about wounds in His hands, and He answers, those with which I was wounded in the house of my friend. Les teaches that this remnant of Israel will experience the new birth that Nicodemus was told he had to have in order to go into the kingdom.
And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
