Jesus means He is the eternal God — the beginning and the end, the pre-existent Creator who has always been.
In Revelation 21:6, Jesus Himself says, "It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end." Les Feldick notes that this title is used only by Christ, the One who is from eternity past and who created all things (Clip 1, Clip 2). Jesus did not begin at Bethlehem — He has always been.

In the book of Revelation, the Lord Jesus declares, 'I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end' (Revelation 21:6), and again, 'I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last' (Revelation 22:13). Earlier, John records the Lord saying, 'I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty' (Revelation 1:8). In John 8:58, Jesus also claims the eternal name 'I AM': 'Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.' These titles present Christ as the One who encompasses all of time and eternity.
Les Feldick teaches that Christ is the One who says 'I am Alpha and Omega' — the only person of the Godhead who claims that title (Clip 1). He sees it as Jesus referring to Himself as the beginning and the end. Les also connects this to Christ's pre-existence: Jesus did not come on the scene at Bethlehem, but came out of eternity past and has always been (Clip 2). As God the Son, He is the Creator by whom all things were made (Clips 2, 7). In Les's teaching, this is the same pre-eternal, self-existent I AM who said to the Jews, 'Before Abraham was, I am' (Clips 3, 5). Throughout Scripture, Les says, this eternal I AM, God the Son, is progressively revealed (Clip 6). Finally, the last I AM in Scripture is 'I AM Alpha and Omega, the bright and morning star,' marking the dawning of the eternal day (Clip 4).
In the book of Revelation, Jesus pairs the title with its explanation: 'the beginning and the end' (Revelation 21:6) and 'the beginning and the end, the first and the last' (Revelation 22:13). Les Feldick points out that when Jesus says 'I am Alpha and Omega,' He is speaking as the One who is the beginning and the end (Clip 1).
Les Feldick is emphatic that Christ did not begin to exist at His birth in Bethlehem. He says Jesus came out of eternity past and 'has always been' (Clip 2). He is the One who was 'before all things' and who holds all things together (Clip 2). In Les's teaching, this is the same pre-eternal I AM who said, 'Before Abraham was, I am' (Clips 3, 5).
Les points to Revelation 22 as the last chapter of the Bible, where the final I AM appears: 'I AM Alpha and Omega, the bright and morning star.' He explains that the morning star appears at the dawn of a new day, and here it is the dawning of the eternal day (Clip 4).
Scripture says of God the Son, 'For by him were all things created... all things were created by him, and for him' (Colossians 1:16). Les teaches that God the Son spoke the Word and all things came into being (Clips 2, 7). Because He was there first and will be there at the end, the Alpha and Omega title fits His role as Creator and Sustainer.
