How do some scholars describe the overall time frame of God's program?

Some scholars describe the overall program of God from Genesis to Revelation as being set within a 7,000-year time frame. They connect this to the seven days and the seventh day, or 7,000th year, while often stating they are not setting a definite date.

Les explains that while he is not one for setting dates, many scholars are now putting these things together, and he does not argue with them if they make plain they are not setting a definite date. They show how the whole program of God from Genesis to Revelation seems to be set in a time frame of 7,000 years, tied to the seven days and the seventh day, or 7,000th year, right out in front of us. He also mentions a gentleman named Grant Jeffreys, whose book Armageddon and Appointment with Destiny presents interesting figures based partly on Israel's Jubilee period. A Jubilee was 50 years, and every 50th year was called the year of Jubilee, a year of new beginnings when debts were cancelled, property reverted to the original owner, and prisoners were released, though Israel never practiced it as far as Les knows.
